The Saratoga Springs High School Drama Club will present the musical “Calvin Berger” this weekend. There will be shows on Friday, January 9 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, January 10 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
The play, written by Barry Wyner and centering around four students in a high school, is loosely based on an 1897 play by the French poet Edmond Rostand entitled “Cyrano de Bergerac.”
“Calvin Berger” features Liam McKenna as Calvin, Alyssa D’Angelo as Bret, Noah Casner as Matt, and Carolyn Shields as Rosanna. It is directed by Leigh Berenis, with music direction by Kathleen McCarty, and features a cast, crew and orchestra of over 25 students. The production is presented through special arrangement with Tams Witmark,
Unlike the other two Drama Club plays this year, which use the larger Loewenberg Auditorium, Calvin Berger will be presented in the high school’s Meade Auditorium. Tickets are $12 for adults, $7 for senior citizens and $5 for students.
