This Friday, the Saratoga Springs High School football team will play their 4th home game, and the student section will be back with an all-new theme: Pink Out! While we are all wondering if the team will continue their win streak, I’m sure some of you are also wondering what you should wear- other than the obvious: Pink!
Well, to start I always find it best to check the weather. Fall is here (if you couldn’t already tell by the chilly temperatures) so you’ll want to bundle up for this football game. At the white-out game, if it weren’t for the cheers coming from the lively student section, you would have heard nothing but teeth chattering. So, learn from previous mistakes and take my advice: LAYER! If all you have is a pink t-shirt, throw on a sweatshirt underneath–you’ll stay on theme and stay warm.
Now that we’ve covered how to dress for the weather, let’s get into how to spice up your outfit!
Hats: We saw a lot of hats at the last football game, and as the weather gets cooler, I’m sure we’ll see more. I suggest breaking out your old winter hat with the pink pom-pom, the one you haven’t worn since 5th grade, or following the trend we saw at the whiteout game and wearing a pink cowboy hat.
Accessories: If you don’t have much pink or just want to go all out, run to Target this week to get pink bandanas or some crazy sunglasses! You could also accessorize to keep warm by adding pink gloves and a scarf, or even a pink feather boa!
Makeup: I know makeup is not everyone’s thing, but if you want to add to your look on Friday night, try some pink eye makeup! You can simply brush on a little pink eyeshadow, or you could add pink eyeliner! To top it off, use pink mascara or bright pink lip gloss.
Jackets: It’s going to be chilly, so a jacket is not a bad idea, especially if you have a funky pink one. It’s time to dig out that totally impractical fuzzy pink jacket you just had to have, but never wear- just like mom said.
Eye Black: I cannot forget the fan favorite for sports games- eye black! But of course, you must make it go with the theme and make it pink!
My last piece of advice on what to wear for the game is…
SCHOOL SPIRIT: This is a must, so you best not forget it!
I hope to see you decked out in pink, cheering in the student section! And remember to go all out or just go sit with your mom!
