On Friday October 25th, the Saratoga Springs Blue Streaks displayed their pride at the annual homecoming Pep Rally.

The rally kicked off when the student council announced all the fall varsity sports teams. They walked in a parade around the gym to the iconic sports song, “Kenkraft 400” by Zombie Nation. Next, the cheerleaders got the whole crowd excited with their amazing performance, which included stunts and outstanding tumbling skills.

Following the performance, they started a friendly competition against all the grades. The first game was a scavenger hunt which entailed one team captain from every grade had to receive the following items: a plunger, a blue wall and a flower that were scattered around each grades section. This competition was ultimately won by the freshman.

Second, there was a basketball tic tac toe game in which each time a basket is made, a move can be made on the tic tac toe board. In the finals, it was a senior vs. a freshman and once again, the freshman pulls off the upset win.

This event was preceded by student favorite, the musical chairs. At the end of the two heats, there were only 2 opponents left, a freshman and a junior. Finally, the juniors rob the freshman out of their third win in a row.

The event was ended with a tug of war. In the first round the sophomores and juniors blew the freshman and seniors out of the water. In the second round it was seniors vs. teachers and the strong seniors were able to beat the teachers with a little bit of perseverance. The SSHS pep rally was a great start to the electric homecoming weekend for the Blue Streaks.
