Rapper and songwriter Noah Oliver Smith, also known as Yeat, is a world renowned artist for his fast trap beats and creative lyrics. Over the past 10 days, he has made waves in the rap world for his release of his newest album “Lyfestyle”, which came out on October 18th. He was born in Lake Oswego, Oregon, and grew up in Irvine California with his Romanian mother and Mexican father. He lived in a middle-class household and moved multiple times during his childhood. He remarked in an interview that he didn’t fit in like every other kid and found himself getting into trouble at school almost every day.
In early high school, Yeat started to develop a complex personality that revolved around drugs, music, and skipping school. At first, Noah’s new priorities started to worry his parents, but his continued love for creating, listening, and analyzing music gave his parents hope for a future music career. After barely graduating high school, he immediately moved to New York City to seriously pursue a career in music.
During his time in New York, he made thousands of songs in his friend’s recording studio to find his signature sound and experimented with his style and persona. He released his first ever EP with “Deep Blue Strips” on September 20th, 2018. This record was shortly followed up by “Wake Up Call” on January 19th, 2019. Both albums didn’t gain much traction in the mainstream Hip-Hop industry but secured his name as a rapper and producer in the underground rap sphere.
Yeat soon decided that living in New York City wasn’t as beneficial for his career as he originally thought, so he moved to Los Angeles to be closer to his parents. In L.A. he went on a streak by dropping albums such as “Up 2 Me”, “2 Alive”, and “Lyfe” in 2021 and 2022 that caught on with the mainstream rap community and went viral on platforms such as Tik Tok and YouTube. His album “2093”, dropped earlier this year and showed Yeat experimenting with his sound and adding new influences and themes into this music. This has led to lots of hype and mystery around his brand new album, “Lyfestyle”.
The album “Lyfestyle” is Yeats 6th studio album and his 2nd album of 2024. The album has so far been a mainstream success, on track to be his most successful yet. In contrast to 2093, Yeat is still implementing futuristic beats, but adding in more rage and hardcore influence into this project. The album features some other mainstream artists including Don Toliver, Kodak Black, Lil Durk, and Summrs. The album includes 22 tracks and is 62 minutes in length.
