On March 6th, 7th, and 8th Saratoga Springs High School’s very own Drama Club is putting on their spring musical: Legally Blonde! This fiery show, featuring captivating musical numbers, dazzling choreography, and exciting characters, will entrance you from the first note to the final bow. Legally Blonde is a movie title that’s now known all over the world, but actually started its life as a novel by Amanda Brown about a girl named Elle Woods who, after getting dumped by her boyfriend, hatches a plan to follow him to Stanford Law and get him back. Along this journey Elle meets friends and foes, fights for her place in the university, and finds herself. This novel was adapted into the famous movie starring Reese Witherspoon in 2001 and stayed true to the book in all ways except that the university is switched to Harvard Law. The story’s final adaptation was into a Broadway musical, which our talented students are going to be recreating and performing!
So why should you come see Legally Blonde the Musical at Saratoga High School? Well, here are seven responses from some of the very students who will be performing!
Abby Degregory, playing Elle Woods: “I think people should come because it’s a very fun and high energy show, and there’s not a single boring moment. It’s a story that everyone knows and loves with a great message. Also, it’s important to come support the arts because we put in a ton of effort to make a good show, and we are so excited to perform it for everyone.”
Peter Brueggemann, playing Emmett Forrest: “I would say because there’s a lot of hard work we all put into the arts that people usually aren’t able to see, and everyone in the cast really appreciates it when our fellow students support us.”
Anna Bonner, playing Paulette Bonafonte/Enid Hoopes: “The show tells an important message about female empowerment that I think everyone should hear. Also, it’s just a great time!”

Paeton Koshgarian, playing Paulette Bonafonte/Enid Hoopes: “This musical does such an amazing job at uplifting women, specifically Elle, Paulette, and Vivian. I like how it portrays different types of women with different goals in life- from preppy Elle who finds her true calling, to the more serious and career-focused Vivian, to Paulette who wants to settle down with a man that loves her. This show is all about how women can feel empowered in so many different ways and not everyone fits into the same mold.”
Ella Warden, playing Vivian Kensington: “People should come see the show because it’s just so amazing and every single person in the cast is incredibly talented. It’s such a fun show with great music and everyone will have a blast!”
Max Mittler, playing Warner Huntington III: “It’s filled to the brim with comedy, and you won’t be able to stop laughing the entire time you’re in your seat. The cast has worked so hard on this show, and you can really tell by watching it how much effort everyone onstage has put in.”
Dante DePaulo, playing Professor Callahan: “The show has great music and amazing choreography, and the students have been rehearsing for months to get it ready. We’re so excited to know that our peers want to watch us perform and we hope that they really enjoy it!”
Ethan Conn, playing Kyle B. O’Boyle/Nikos Argitakos: “We are lucky enough to have extremely talented cast members who all have unique personalities and perspectives that they bring to the stage with them. It’s also such a funny show, and I look good so you should come watch it.”
From the dancing and singing to the costumes and set, Legally Blonde is sure to be an amazing experience for everyone who comes to see it. We hope to see you there supporting SSHS Drama Club!
