Hallway Highlights: A SSHS Student Fashion Report

March 3, 2025 by Ava Tatum (‘25)

You’d think that after 6 months I’d know what I want to do with my style, but I still find myself in between aesthetics, tearing my hair out the night before school trying to outfit plan, and sifting through Pinterest to find inspiration. So, I decided to turn to the most fashionable people I know, the Saratoga student body.

Alanna Wright (’25)

[Q] Who/what inspires your style?

[A] “Anyone in the media that I see, I like to scroll on Pinterest in the morning but usually I just go with the flow. I like to pick up random things and just hope they go together. It’s hard to pinpoint my inspiration because I like to gather bits from everywhere.”

[Q] Describe your style in 3 words

[A] “Everywhere. Chaotic. Spontaneous.”

[Q] Do you prefer thrifting, retail, or online shopping, and why?

[A] “Thrifting, it’s a lot more convenient for everybody and I grew up thrifting with my mom so I’m glad it’s getting popular because we’re finally getting over the stigma around thrifting.”

[Q] What is your favorite season for shopping, and why?

[A] “Any warm season, like spring or summer. I just feel like I can never find anything cute in the winter.”

[Q] What fashion trend do you wish made a comeback?

[A] “Frosted tips. I don’t like it on guys, but when girls have short hair, a shaggy haircut, and frosted tips, it looks so good.”

[Q] What advice would you give to someone who is developing their style?

[A] “You really just have to go with the flow. Wear things that make you feel confident and explore different aesthetics and styles. Don’t pressure yourself into finding an aesthetic, just have fun with it.”
