-India-Pakistan Ceasefire: Following numerous days of intense military conflicts and tension from both countries, India and Pakistan agreed to an immediate ceasefire on May 10th. This India-Pakistan conflict has been a prominent issue in the middle east ever since the infamous partition of British India in 1947, which became the spark to an ongoing dispute over the divide of British India’s territory. In the wake of this territorial divide, there have been persistent conflicts and violence between the two countries over this territory. CNN has recently stated that “India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri accused Pakistan of repeatedly violating the ceasefire agreement on Saturday, after explosions were heard in both the India- and Pakistan-administered parts of Kashmir. Pakistan also accused India of committing violations but stressed it ‘remains committed to a faithful implementation of the ceasefire.” Even though this ceasefire was said to be a plan to reach peace, many news outlets have reported a series of violations to this agreement.
