Saratoga Vs Bethlehem Volleyball Match

October 27, 2025 by Nicholas Humowitz (‘27)

On Wednesday, October 15, Bethlehem volleyball defeated Saratoga in a 3-0 shutout. Saratoga predated this match with their very own 3-0 shutout against Guilderland, moving the team to 6-6 on the season.

The first set was a very close back-and-forth battle with Saratoga pulling away early with the help of Lucas Marra and Anton Gvozdev putting pressure on the Bethlehem front line. Later that set Bethlehem to ease into a rhythm and coming back to win the set  25-22.

The second set saw a clear Saratoga struggle, starting down 3-9, putting them in a hole they could not recover from, losing the set 12-25.

The last set Bethlehem continued to demonstrate how they were the better team that day, blocking Saratoga’s spikes and winning the final set 25-15. Bethlehem now moves to a 4-5 record and plays at Guilderland on October 28.

“We didn’t pass well enough and we didn’t get enough offense out of that and their block killed us in the first set and I think mentally we mentally checked out a little bit” Coach Brown said after the game. Saratoga now moves to a 6-7 record, with their next game at Burnt Hills on October 27th.
