The Biggest Sunday of the Year

February 1, 2019 by Tyler Charnik

The most anticipated weekend in sports. The greatest platform for commercial advertising. The biggest gig in the music industry. The Super Bowl caters to all viewers by offering a variety of appeals.

Super Bowl LIII between the Los Angeles Rams and the New England Patriots will be played on Sunday, February 3 at 6:30 pm at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Patriots are coming fresh off a loss in Super Bowl LII to the Philadelphia Eagles and this and will try to bounce back in this year’s Championship. The Rams on the other hand have not played in a Super Bowl since 2001 when they lost to the New England Patriots.

New England quarterback Tom Brady will appear in his ninth Super Bowl this Sunday while the entire Rams roster has combined for five Super Bowl appearances. Brady is seeking his sixth ring along with Coach Bill Belichick.

The patriots offense is fueled by Brady but the offensive line has yet to let up a sack in both of their playoff games thus far. The fight of Aaron Donald against the elite Patriot line will be an exciting match-up to watch.

Although the Rams are inexperienced, they are still very talented. Defensive tackle, Aaron Donald destroyed offensive lines all season long, racking up a total of 20.5 sacks. Running back Todd Gurley accumulated over 1800 yards from scrimmage, even with being injured for the last two games of the season.

Also on the Rams roster, perhaps the most intriguing punter in the league, scratch that, the ONLY intriguing punter in the game, Johnny Hekker. Coach Sean McVay has shown that he isn’t afraid to use Hekker in fake punts or fake field goals to catch the Patriots off guard.

There’s no doubt that this will be a tightly contested game between two high powered offenses If Brady wins, it will be his sixth Super Bowl victory and will solidify his legacy as . However, if the Rams win, head coach Sean McVay will become the youngest head coach in history to win a Super Bowl at age 33.

As for the outcome of the game, it will be close but the Patriots should finish on top with a final score 28-24. Brady and Belichick make history.

Of course, the Super Bowl is not all about football, for those not interested in the sport aspect, the commercials never fail to entertain and Maroon 5 and Travis Scott are expected to impress and show the world how the two will mix their styles into a set.

Have fun this weekend, be safe, watch some good football, chow down on some snacks and enjoy!
