Aquarius season is now in full swing! The 20th of January marks the beginning of the season of our fellow Aquarians and the 18th of February marks the end.
Aquarians are known for their great visions for their own future as well as for the future of society. Their most common strengths are that they have great observational skills, are peaceful and effective thinkers, and have a strong desire to learn. Their most common weaknesses show through in their overthinking–due to their great observational skills–which can sometimes lead to stubbornness about their views and emotions.
Assertiveness is a strong suit for many Aquarians. Abby Bundy, an SSHS Aquarius, said, “I definitely have strong opinions and won’t back down from voicing them. I have been fortunate to hold several leadership roles in clubs, sports, and music and I think I am assertive in the way that I help get things done and contribute to creating a positive environment for my peers.” There are several different ways that Aquarians assert themselves in their lives. SSHS Aquarius Payton Borak said, “I do consider myself to be an assertive person, I’m very confident in myself and what I do every day and my personality never changes. I’m always myself no matter where I’m at or who I’m with.”
Their assertive demeanors can also tie into their liking of independence. Aquarius Natalie Rock said, “I am very independent, I started making my own lunches in second grade. I like knowing that I can be okay on my own.” Bundy also considers herself to be generally independent and said, “I think I’m a pretty driven person and with that comes working towards goals because of my own motivation and interest. I think it’s important to discover what you’re individually capable of doing because it builds confidence and character.” Being independent and learning things on their own is a skill that many Aquarians obtain, and this can be seen further in their creativity.
Creativity is another commonality in many Aquarians. Bundy finds herself to be a very creative person. She said, “I love colors and crafts–my bookshelf is even color coded. I think art and music are places where I’ve been able to let go of the rigid bounds of a life of a perfectionist. In the desire to make something sound or look beautiful, I discovered a form of expression that inspired creative and out of the box thinking in my later years of school.” Aquarius Andrew Hope also believes he is very creative and “likes problem solving and stuff.” “I love to paint, draw, sew, play music, and write–which are all things that let me be creative,” said Rock.
The intellectual and innovative side of Aquarians can also lead to optimism in the minds of many. Borak considers himself to be very optimistic. He said, “I believe in myself everyday and I like telling myself and others that I’m going to be famous one day and live it up because I just have strong confidence in myself for the future.” Optimism is a big thing for Bundy as well, and she said, “I try my best to be optimistic because it brings me hope and honestly I’d rather feel hopeful about the future and have big dreams than no expectations at all. I like to believe everything happens for a reason and if you do your best and treat other people well, everything will work out, even if it’s not what you expect”. Rock agrees with this idea as well and “tries to look on the brighter side” in many situations.
Although Aquarians share many similar characteristics and personality traits, their hobbies can vary based on their differences in interests. Borak loves to play video games and watch a little Netflix, whereas Rock loves to play the piano, and Abby loves to play soccer. Hope loves to hangout with friends–which is a commonality between the others as well.
There is a long list of prominent Aquarians, whose personalities give insight into the true life of an Aquarius. Some of the most well-known Aquarians are Harry Styles, Justin Timberlake, Ashton Kutcher, Ed Sheeran, Jennifer Aniston, Alicia Keys, Shakira, and Oprah Winfrey.
There are several traits shared among by Aquarians, however, it is important to note they do have differences. Rock, Bundy, Borak, and Hope are all independent individuals who bring their own kind of creativeness and assertion into their lives and our broader world.
