We asked five seniors to show us what they looked like Freshman year and tell us how they think they’ve changed since first entering the hallowed halls of Saratoga Springs High School. Here’s what they had to say…

Andrew Wilson

How he’s changed: “ I’ve started to really work on trying to improve myself, rather than trying to improve myself for other people. So I’ve tried to make myself the best person I can be for myself, and trying to make sure I’m always on top of my studies and my athletics. I’m just trying to make my life better for myself and try to help myself get where I want to be.”

Words of Wisdom for incoming freshman:“I would say 100% relax about finding friends, it’ll come naturally.”

Jones

How he’s changed: “Oh boy…Freshman year was a weird time for me because I didn’t care about a lot of stuff, like school. Socially I didn’t really make any big endeavors. Around the end of Sophomore year I realized that if I kept acting the way I was, my life later on would kind of just be bad. So I made an effort to change.”

Baird

Words of Wisdom for incoming freshman: “It may seem like it’s a long way off, but graduation’s going to come sooner than you think.”

Connor Baird

How he’s changed: “When I was a Freshman, I was a lot shorter, a lot skinnier, and I had short hair. But also I’ve changed a lot within my personality. When I was a Freshman, I didn’t really listen to music and I wasn’t really a creative person. Now, I’m in a band and I bring headphones everywhere.”

Words of Wisdom for incoming freshman: “Learn how to study.”

Brittyn Daley

Daley

How she’s changed: “Visually I definitely changed my hair a lot and changed my style a lot, too. I think it’s more reflective of who I am as a person. Personality wise, I’m pretty similar to who I was but I’m more confident in myself now. I’m more thoughtful than I was, I think before I speak.”

Billok

Words of Wisdom for incoming freshman: “Don’t get caught up in your insecurities. At the end of the day, you always focus on it a lot more than other people.”

Sam Billok

How he’s changed: “It was my first year at Saratoga Springs High School, and then afterwards I went to Albany Academy for two years before I came back to Saratoga. I tend to think about how I was more timid in Freshman year, and I kind of remained timid for Sophomore and Junior year. “

Words of Wisdom for incoming freshman: “Try not to be clique oriented.”
