Caffè Lena is a historic folk music venue established in 1960, making it the oldest continuously operating venue of its kind in the US. It has hosted legends such as Bob Dylan and Arlo Guthrie. Below are some top picks for great shows in April!
Alice Howe & Freebo are coming to Caffè Lena with their own warm blend of folk, blues, and Americana. Known for their rich and thoughtful lyricism and harmonies, the duo delivers a night full of intimate storytelling and songs. This is a night perfect for those who are drawn to both heartfelt originals or new and fresh takes on legendary classic roots songs.
The Peak Jazz Series welcomes celebrated guitarist Charlie Ballantine to Caffè Lena for an evening of modern jazz. This musician approaches jazz with both energy and edge, blending improve with long thought out composition. Ballantine offers a setting filled with groove, creativity, and top-tier musicianship.
Along with providing live music, Caffè Lena additionally hosts open mic nights each month. These open mics are diverse and filled with likeminded people that are eager to hear other people’s works of art. People read poems, short stories, play songs, and more to showcase upcoming talents, or even something casual like a poem you wrote in English that you’re proud of! Come down and share something you’re proud of, support a friend, or come listen to other people braving the stage at a Caffè Lena open mic night.
