Easter Uncovered: True Facts and Experiences…

April 1, 2026 by Kayla Magnus (‘29)

Easter is upon us, so here are a few traditions that my friends reported made it a memorable day in their childhoods.

Emma

Kayla: “What are some childhood traditions or memories that made Easter memorable for you?”

Emma: “Um…… *burps*…… ummmm…..uhhhhh…..oh yeah, so like I would do these east-easter-e-eh-eh…..FAHHHHHHHHH… easter egg hunts and um sometimes I’d go to church cuz you know I’m religious and stuff and um…. What else what else what else what else ohhhh yeah and also we would like um um dye easter eggs which like lowkey kinda smelled bad because we would use like vinegar and stuff and like it just smelled really really bad and like it was also like boiled eggs and those are lowkey nasty I’m sorry for any of the boiled egg lovers out there like y’all are nasty I’m sorry.

Lucy in the background: “Hard boiled eggs?!”

Emma: “Yes bro those are nasty.”

Lucy in the background: “Not if you put salt on top of them!”

Emma: “Nope they are still nasty, even the salt, bleugggggh. Anyways, back to me, back to me, back to me! Ok anyways, so that stuff oh and then also oh funny story; on my first easter, my dad sat with me on the Easter Bunny’s lap because he didn’t want me going alone, I have a photo of it too. It’s pretty tuff and um yeah, guys we gotta stop being so loud were at the Uncommon thing. So um yeah that’s a day in the life of Emma!”

Emily

Kayla: What were some childhood traditions that made Easter memorable for you?

Emily: “Um what’s that?”

Kayla: “Um what? Easter?”

Emily: “Yeah I’ve never heard of that”

Kayla: “Seriously? You’ve never heard of the Easter Bunny or like eaten a chocolate egg?”

Emily: “Um no, who’s that bunny guy”

Kayla: “He’s like this six-foot man/bunny that brings us chocolate eggs”

Emily: “Oh he sounds pretty chill, what he have to do with Easter though, and where does he get the eggs?”

Kayla: “He lays them”

Emily: “WHAT?!”

Kayla: “Yeah he hides them around our houses”

Emily: ”What do we do with eggs?”

Kayla: “Well we look for them and then we eat them”

Emily: “His children?! We eat his children???!!!!”

Kayla: “Um I guess, I mean they’re kind of chocolate though”

Emily: “Oh okay that sounds kind of fun, I’ll have to check my whole house for his kids this year.”

Kayla: “You do that.”
